A day with the children in Lisbon
When people ask us about activities for children in Lisbon, the answer is always the same: the Oceanarium and Lisbon Zoo. All children, big and small, love them.
They are both served by Metro stations, which makes them easily accessible. The Oceanarium takes about 3 hours to visit, while the Zoo takes about 4 hours.
Lisbon Oceanarium + Cable Car
The Lisbon Oceanarium is a must-see for children (and adults). A large central aquarium, with 5 million litres of salt water and four marine habitats that create the illusion of a single aquarium and a single ocean.
The visit takes place on two levels, the terrestrial and the underwater, crossing the temperate, tropical and cold waters of the planet’s different oceans. Sharks, rays, otters, penguins, amphibians and a myriad of fish.
A super fun and economical way to enjoy the beautiful view of the river in Lisbon is by cable car. It starts next to the Oceanarium and goes to the other side of Parque das Nacões where you have the best view of the Vasco da Gama bridge with its 16 kilometres.
It takes about 10 minutes each way, but it’s really worth it. For those going to Lisbon’s oceanarium, it’s a different way of seeing this part of the city.
