From the Fado Museum to the flat

The Fado Museum is an excellent reference both for Taxis and Ubers

In front of the museum there is this square with one of the old fountains that used to supply Lisbon with water. On the right, there is a very narrow street.

Follow this narrow street to the end.

When you reach the end turn left

After turning left continue straight ahead for about 100 metres

When you see the black sign “Beco da Formosa” turn right

Follow this street for about 15 meters until you see the building on your right

Arrival by car

Parking in the city centre is difficult and expensive so we do not recommend renting a car to visit the city. Most of the historic centre is closed to car traffic so it will be of little use.

If you need to rent a car to continue your trip in Portugal, it is preferable to rent one at the end of your stay.

The recommended car parks are as follows:

Santa Apolónia

The cheapest park for daily stays is Parque de Santa Apolónia, near Alfama. Each hour costs €1.20, but the maximum daily rate is €8.

Cruise Ship Terminal

Another park slightly closer to the centre, is the Parque do Terminal de Cruzeiros near Alfama. Each hour costs €1.90, but the maximum daily rate is €12.
