Sesimbra to Lisbon aboard the sailing boat SeaDrop
May 2022A trip of friends from Sesimbra to Lisbon where we had several wind conditions and where Bruno and Carlos made their baptism of passage of Cabo Espichel
From Sesimbra to Cabo Espichel we had a good wind from east which caused a lot of splashes. When we arrived at the cape the wind dropped a lot and the rounding was slow until we got again a good wind that allowed us to make the trip quickly.
At the entrance of the bar we came across the corvette João Coutinho of the Portuguese Navy (F471), and it is always a pleasure to see these ships sailing. From Bugio lighthouse, the wind rose to 20 knots NW which allowed a fantastic sail until Belém Tower, always above 8 knots.
Near Belem Tower we crossed HippoTrip that with the tide out and NW wind, was catching some interesting waves. We also met up with Chef Miguel’s Aqui há Peixe and Treino de Mar’s Brida
